Wet Point: Chapter 2.4

The container house where Yi-an currently lives with Yiseo was found for them by a neighbor they had met in their previous neighborhood. The area, which had been designated for redevelopment at the time, was recruiting tenants at less than half the market rate ahead of relocation, so they eagerly signed the contract, trusting the landlord’s assurance that they could live there for at least two years. However, due to the relocation happening sooner than expected, they were forced to leave in a hurry before even completing a year.

As rumors spread that the few remaining residents had encountered hired thugs and been severely beaten, there was no turning back. Having heard and experienced firsthand how they were threatened and what their fate was, Yi-an knew the ecosystem of redevelopment terribly well.

As the man said, there was no way anyone could remain here.

“That’s disappointing.”

“……Sorry?”

“I like having just the two of us, but I guess you don’t, Baby.”

“No, it’s not like that… … .”

As if not expecting an answer, the man quickly averted his gaze. Then, he carelessly pushed the steel door of the multi-family dwelling, which looked as though it could collapse at any moment. With a creaking metallic sound similar to the one coming from Yi-an’s house, the rusty iron door swung open.

From the outside, it was clearly a house where multiple generations lived… but perhaps they had renovated it when they started moving in; after passing through the iron gate and opening the front door, an unimaginable interior unfolded. It felt less like an empty home and more like the abandoned factory where he had just woken up to that morning.

“Eh… … ?”

While Yi-an blinked his eyes rapidly, trying to adjust to the dim lighting, the man stepped inside first as if nothing were wrong. He took a long stride and moved straight ahead without looking back. Yi-an hurriedly followed him.

Panting, he followed the man’s strides up the stairs without even a railing, and before he knew it, he had reached a hallway with windows. Although the building was neglected to the point of being a ruin, the evening glow filtering through the windows looked warm. A dim light streamed into the unlit space, casting long shadows.

The long shadow extended into the space on the opposite side as well. The remaining threshold and the traces of a roughly smashed steel wall vaguely suggested that a place that was originally connected had been torn down to open it up. In the area where a large table stood, white powder of unknown purpose were scattered here and there.

The man took a step further and felt along the wall. Carefully tracing the cross-section—which looked like nothing more than an ordinary concrete wall except for the lack of wallpaper—he bent his fingers to locate a small crack. Applying pressure to the spot where his fingertips caught and pulling to one side, the wall shifted with a creaking sound, revealing another space.

“Eh…….”

Designed with a lower ceiling than where he had originally been standing, it looked like an adult man would have to hunch over to enter. Yi-an stood awkwardly, waiting for the man who had only opened the entrance to look inside. A quick glance at the interior revealed it was packed tightly with boxes of unknown origin.

The man soon bent his knees and crouched down. In response, Yi-an also leaned forward, bending his upper body towards him. The man, who had been looking inside with a slight frown, tapped his knees with his fingers as if calculating something, then suddenly turned around.

“If you have a vagina, does water naturally come out of the breasts?”

Perhaps it was because he was bending over. The man had his gaze fixed on Yi-an’s fully exposed chest. Perhaps due to the weight of the nipples, which were so large they could be called “breasts,” the soft breast flesh sagged, forming a curve. His skin looked much softer and smoother than when he was standing, and the man licked his lower lip as his eyes gleamed.
